WATERISE 1st Steering Committee Meeting
First Steering Committee marks the launch of WATERISE for water‑wise tourism in Mediterranean islands
WATERISE aims to strengthen climate adaptation and water resilience in Mediterranean islands affected by overtourism. During the first Steering Committee, held on 25 November in hybrid format from Pantelleria and online, partners officially kicked off the project, which will test innovative Nature‑based Solutions—such as constructed wetlands, rainwater systems and atmospheric water harvesting technologies—across pilot sites in six Mediterranean islands. These solutions will support sustainable tourism by improving water management, reducing scarcity, and fostering eco‑innovation in island communities.
